Now that I have the EOS R5 and RF24-105 f/4 lens combination, I have to be honest and say I'm still not convinced. That's just me, remember. When you look at the image above, you can see the two

Nonetheless it's still faster than the 24-105, it's long-enough for portraits, it's STM, and it will go very nicely with the 650D. That sounds as I'm dissing the 24-105 (of which I have no experience). I'm not, but this lens is a good generalist. It's probably an unfair thing to say but the 24-105 is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades and master of

In reply to olynik969 • Dec 28, 2011. I believe that there have been several threads that list all the Canon lenses that are weather resistant. The 24-105 is one of them. It may even be better sealed than the 7D for all I know. But not all of the L lenses are weather sealed, so you ought to do a search for the thread that listed them all. I've read reviews of the Canon EF-S 18-55, 55-250 and 18-135 at various sites including kenrockwell and I think 18-135 is the best single lens choice for now. I understand the 18-55+55-250 option, but for now I think 18-135 is the better choice for me, leaving the option to buy more tele later (for example 70-200 or 70-300) open. Thanks so far!

It offers much greater range and a slightly faster aperture than the RF-S 18-45mm lens, and also boasts light macro capability. It performs above expectations for a kit lens and is an
